Dan is a Partner in Jobplex’s Sports Practice, specializing in executive search across professional sports, collegiate athletics, racing, and media and entertainment organizations tied to the sports industry. He is one of the few consultants in the market whose search practice is built entirely around sports, bringing more than 20 years of executive search experience to that focus.

Throughout his career, Dan has advised organizations including Chip Ganassi Racing, Cleveland Browns, Columbus Blue Jackets, Detroit Lions, Green Bay Packers, NASCAR, Nashville Predators, Nashville SC.
Dan’s path into that specialization has been an entrepreneurial one. He launched Ascension Sports Partners in 2008 after serving as a Senior Vice President with a specialized executive search firm, where he recruited C-suite, senior-level, and mid-management talent across sports, entertainment, and media. After a sports-focused executive search firm acquired Ascension in 2017, Dan stayed on as a Principal Consultant before relaunching Ascension independently in 2020, building it a second time until Jobplex acquired the firm in 2026 and brought his practice and client relationships onto DHR’s platform.
In addition to his search work, Dan is an adjunct professor, teaching undergraduate courses in sports administration. He earned a master’s degree in sports administration from Southeastern Oklahoma State University and a bachelor’s degree in management from Wittenberg University.
