DHR Global’s Vikram Chhachhi notes that GM base pay has been rising 9 to 10% a year, faster than the broader consumer sector, and that pay for roles like finance heads, executive chefs, HR directors and chief engineers is up at least 25 to 30% over five years. Industry observers expect the increases to continue, with the highest premiums going to GMs strong in strategy and financial performance.
