Michele Counter, Partner, DHR – Nonprofit Practice Group, Charlotte. Previously serving as Principal, Counter works with clients globally, specializing in helping nonprofit organizations find and develop leaders. Working collaboratively with DHR’s Leadership Consulting group, she also assists clients with strategy, business planning, governance and executive compensation in the nonprofit sector.
Counter has been supporting nonprofit organizations for more than 25 years in both executive search and internal talent acquisition roles. She joined DHR in 2001 and has worked alongside James Abruzzo, Managing Partner, Global Nonprofit Practice, for over 15 years. In 2016, Counter left DHR to serve as National Director, Talent Acquisition at JDRF, a $200+ million national nonprofit. She redesigned recruitment strategies and built an internal talent acquisition team, which supported all hiring for national roles and in JDRF chapter offices across the country. Counter returned to DHR in 2021.
Mike Gagliardi, Partner, DHR – Consumer & Retail and Private Equity Practice Groups, Charleston. Previously serving as Associate Partner, Gagliardi has over 12 years of executive search experience working with public and private equity-backed companies across several sectors including restaurants, consumer, retail, and hospitality and leisure. His ability to understand and assess the underlying business issues and unique culture in each search assignment and client, coupled with his track record of uncovering hidden talent, has earned him a reputation as a trusted advisor.
Gagliardi joined DHR in 2016 as a Senior Associate and was quickly promoted to Principal and Associate Partner roles. Prior to joining DHR, he was a Senior Recruiter specializing the in the consumer products industry. Gagliardi also served as Director of the Retail & Consumer Practice at another executive search firm before that business was acquired by DHR.
Erin Hadwiger, Partner, Jobplex – Consumer & Retail Practice Group, New York. Previously serving as Associate Partner at DHR Global, Hadwiger works collaboratively across the firm’s executive search and emerging leader services, identifying top talent for retailers ranging from digital-native startups to multi-billion-dollar global brands. Her ability to understand the unique culture of each organization and drive results has made her an invaluable search partner for her clients.
Joining DHR seven years ago as an Associate, Hadwiger was quickly promoted to Senior Associate and then Principal. She has successfully placed senior executives and emerging leaders in merchandising, design/product development, digital, analytics, sales and FP&A roles.
