Tony serves as Partner in the Sports Practice Group and is based in Charlotte, NC. Bringing over 25 years of experience, he has extensive expertise in college athletics at the national and conference levels.

For most of his career, Tony has provided strategic consulting to strengthen collegiate athletic departments in areas including strategic assessments, operational and policy review, revenue and expense analysis, NCAA issues and reviews, fan experience assessments, NIL issues and protocols, and major partner contracts, and RFP analysis.
Earlier in his career, Tony served as Deputy Director of Athletics and Chief Operating Officer at Texas Tech University, where he was involved with all administrative units and department programming and was the sport administrator to the football and men’s basketball programs. Before that, Tony served in various roles at the University of Miami, where he oversaw business operations, compliance, academic services, sports medicine, marketing, ticket operations, development, strength and conditioning, human resources, video services, corporate relations, and legal and contractual matters. Additionally, he oversaw various programs, including football, men’s basketball, baseball, and track. Tony began his career in compliance and served as President of the National Association of Athletic Compliance (NAAC).
Tony has served on ten NCAA committees or cabinets, including three years as Chair of the Student-Athlete Reinstatement Committee, and on many conference-level committees, including NCAA Amateurism Cabinet, ACC Finance Committee, Division-1 Athletic Directors Compliance Task Force, NCAA Academics/Eligibility/ Compliance Cabinet, ACC Constitution and Bylaws Committee, and Chair of NCAA Initial-Eligibility Waivers Sub-Committee. Tony holds a business degree in finance and a law degree from the University of Miami. He graduated from the Disney Institute, and he was recognized as one of the Top 60 Latinos in Sports in 2021.
